The architecture of Maxim's restaurant is a rich mix of both Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau resulting in what could be classed as the most exciting Parisian style.

The red bench seats, the glass roof, the incredible mirrors and woodwork now more than centenarian witness the splendor of the first decades of the 20th century and place Maxim's as a unique museum of unique Parisian archtectural styles.

The history of Maxim's is also asoociated with Sem, one of the most emblematic cartoonists of La Belle Epoque in the early 20's. He used to sit at a table to draw in his inimitable style the famous, near famous and even the infamous customers of the restaurant. The original menu remains today decorated by a superb drawing of this tremendous cartoonist. The museum inside the restaurant presents a wide selection of Sem's work.
